What I think is that you forgot to close the style tag in your header. That being the case, your page isn't HTML valid (according to w3.org guidelines). This means that some web browsers as Netscape v4 (which admittedly is pants wrt to some of the w3.org guidelines) and Opera (which is a magnificent beast, if only I can afford and justify it) won't be able to parse your page code.
